Afterskills' growth has continued to accelerate throughout COVID due to most companies’ need to rapidly change their ways-of-working.  This is in direct response to the shifting workplace environment brought on by the pandemic where the need for a data literate workforce is quickly becoming a key competitive advantage.

Job Description


As Afterskills' chief storyteller, you’ll create and deliver compelling content that showcases our passion and expertise for data literacy, data enablement and knowledge transfer. Your key focus will be on producing interesting articles, posts and blogs (and mini blogs) for our social media channels (LinkedIn etc), website, newsletter and other marketing campaigns. From producing impactful content that showcase our products, workshops, testimonials, our people and capabilities, to long reads that explore how data is making an impact across industries today; no two days will be the same!


In short, we’re looking for a self-starter who will take ownership of the content development machine at Afterskills, and ensure the regular creation and delivery of high-quality written marketing content.


Initial commitment required for this role is 10-15 hours per week. And of course, for the right candidate, this opportunity has the potential to become a full-time permanent role in the near future!


Responsibilities

  • Writing and delivering engaging and informative content
  • Posting the content you create on our social media platforms, website, newsletter, etc
  • Supporting our in-house creative team to build compelling visuals and graphics to complement written materials
  • Brainstorming and planning new marketing content and campaigns
  • Interviewing our people / clients contacts to gain insights and expertise that can be turned into engaging marketing content
  • Triaging material produced by our team and advising on changes and improvements
  • Looking out for the trending topics across our priority markets and service offerings, and ensuring the content created is timely and optimised to deliver impact

Requirements

  • Previous experience in content writing, ideally in the data analytics / education space.
  • Confident in writing for web and social media and print
  • A keen eye for detail and a strong communicator able to take complex information and distil it clearly and creatively for a broader audience
  • A tenacious attitude to get engagement from those in the practice who you need to source information from, and to ensure tasks are delivered in a timely manner
  • Previous experience with design tools such as Canva, Photoshop or similar is desirable, but training can be provided
  • Previous experience in marketing automation platforms such as Mailchimp is desirable, but training can be provided
  • Relevant degree or professional marketing qualifications would be helpful, but not essential.
